hello there, friend,

this winter has been atypical for us. here, in southwestern virginia, we often have a few days sprinkled throughout that remind us of spring - but, for the most part the average daytime temperature is in the 40's. this year i can count on my hands the number of days that have been this cold. it's been in the 50's and 60's almost every day and will be for the foreseeable future.

not every day has sunshine, though. and for me, that's still what brings the world to life. we had a warm and sunny weekend - one where we played croquet and table games, went hiking, and explored nearby city life with relatives we hadn't seen in ages. i logged quite a few miles walking and remembered how good i feel when i use my body.

the long weekend gave our family a chance to reconnect with each other - which is what i'm always longing for. we start a shorter week on the right foot - fueled by kindness, common experiences, and rest.

xo,
b
