Hello there, friend,

On Saturday afternoon, I decided to use The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up to purge my clothes. My clothing situation was a mess I should have tackled months ago. I was holding on to a lot of items for one of two reasons: The item was professional work wear that I thought perhaps I might need in the future or it was something I loved in my pre-baby body but doesn't quite fit right anymore.

So I let it all go. I had four trash bags full of clothes and shoes, and I immediately took them to the thrift store around the corner, just like Marie Kondo suggests. I felt so great, so light. I can see the floor of my closet. Everything is organized for once.

What I've been left with is the equivalent of a capsule wardrobe. I counted twenty-eight items, not including shoes or workout wear, that I have left to wear. I'll be honest -- it does kind of freak me out a bit because I'm a t-shirt and jeans girl at heart, and some of what I got rid of were clothes I might wear once in a while for certain occasions. But I suppose if I need something else, I'll have to go shopping with Kondo's spark of joy in mind.

The jury's still out on how "life changing" this will be.

xo,
L
