Hello there, friend,
I love that you're finding more peace through meditation. It wasn't until this year that I redefined what meditating can mean. Instead of trying to clear every thought from my mind, I let thoughts float in and observe them without judgment. So meditating becomes a way to quietly check in with my mind and body to notice where things may not be lining up.
I think there's a lot to be said for checking in with your mind and body. I've tried to be more observant of both, noticing what kinds of things bother me and how I can adjust, noticing where my body hurts or is carrying tension, then asking why. I know it's made a big difference in my daily life. It's affected how I relate to my family and friends, how I sleep, how I work.
But, to me, taking the time to meditate or check in with myself means one very important thing: that I care for myself, that I believe that I am deeply loved by God and, because of that, I should love and care for myself. Accepting that, truly believing it, has been one of my life's sweetest victories.
xo,
L
