writing letters blog

Hello there, friend,

Today started slowly, sipping my coffee at the kitchen table while I worked. I like the quiet of the morning, rising well before the sun, stealing a few moments for myself before the day begins. It took me a long to time to realize that I need to get up earlier, that being awake before the kids helps the day start off on the right foot. I always treasured sleep too much. Now I treasure those quiet moments.

You talk about having a park across the street from your house, and I can only imagine what that's like. Living in the city, the houses are close together and the closest thing to a park is the school yard where my daughter is a student. Lucky for me, though, we have a double lot and a sizable yard, but it's not a place to sneak away and explore.

Sometimes I think about owning an old farmhouse on a couple of acres. The house would have lots of windows and natural light. It would have a wood stove and a wrap-around porch. And, of course, it would have a large barn. There's a house just like it that I drive by often. It was on the market not long ago, but the price tag was hefty. So I tucked it away into maybe someday. Because you just never know.

xo,
L
